my daughter is 14 months, is it
Too late to start teaching her? I tried about 3 months ago to teach her but she seed more interested in babbling and talking and my husband wasn’t very supportive in the endeavour so I gave up! Tell me she can still learn! Lol
Hi Kelsey,
No, it is not too late to start to teach her baby & toddler sign language. In fact, younger toddler pick up ASL signs very quickly and enjoy using their hands as a way to communicate their needs, wants and desires more clearly. Also, when signing to toddlers, the benefits also include pre-literacy skills, increased reading comprehension and a reduction of frustrations!
Here is a video of Elijah signing at about 14-15 months of age!
Please let me know if you have any other questions about signing with your toddler.

Hi, our daughter is 22 months says words. However, I think we would both enjoy our communication better if we developed more signing, is this possible at this later age???
Thank you, Marie
Hi Marie,
Thank you for the wonderful question. Many toddlers very much enjoy signing as they are better able to communicate their needs, wants and desires. A speaking child is able to pull what they are trying to communicate via English and ASL signs which leads to better understanding.
I have had numerous toddlers and late talkers attend my classes. I bring in music and movement, child development activities, stories and more in each class. They very much enjoy our opposite and toy theme classes as this is focused around play based learning!
Please let me know if you have any more questions about signing with your toddler.

My daughter is 3 months on January 15th. Is it too early to register her for Level 1 now or should I wait until they are offered another time?
Hi Keri
Thank you for taking the time to connect with us.
Our signing classes are filled with many activities which promote whole child development that includes: social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development. This is done by teaching parents the American Sign Language signs in a fun, language rich and fun environment. We bring in activities such as drop bins, scarves, sensory bottles and bubbles to promote this interaction. However, parents need that a child will typically start to sign anywhere between 7-12 months of age, and verbal language develops between 12-18 months of age. Therefore, if a parent takes signing classes when their baby is young that there is a waiting period for their first sign.
Happy Signing,

Evening Tanya,
What is the cost of the Level 2 class?
Thank you.
Hello Elicia,
Great question. The price is $100 which includes the Level II $30 coloured curriculum, a new exclusive CD, weekly enriched e-mail, and graduation certificate.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care,
Tanya
My son is just over 6mos & we haven’t taken any signing classes. Does this mean he would start at Level 1?
Hi Tara,
Yes! Families all start at Level I and then progress through our other programs. 6 months of age is a wonderful time to start signing with your family. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Happy Signing,
Tanya RSW, BSW
if you can send me an email that would be perfect.
But my daughter is almost 3 and she doesn’t talk yet. And knows a little bit of sign language. But she’s not into it anymore. Is it too late to sign her up.
