Keep ASL Baby Sign Language fun through play and exploration!
One sensory based learning activity we use in our classes is scarf play!
This type of sensory play helps to develop multiple areas of whole child development including: brain development (how things move in space, and object permanence), language development (when paired with an activity/song- read below for one we use in our classes), and fine motor skills (letting your little one touch the scarf and try to grasp it in the space).
Song we used in class (Yes, we have two dads in our classes the Winter class term!):
Where Is Baby?
Where is “baby”? Where is “baby”?
Here s/he is, here s/he is!
I’m so glad to “see you”, I’m so glad to “see you”!
Peek a boo, Peek a boo! (Here is where you can play with the scarf- hide from you little, move the scarf over their head, have them touch the scarf).
We are excited to announce that due to popular demand a NEW Level I Baby Sign Language (My Smart Hands) has been just been added! This class starts May 3 at 2:15pm; register today to avoid disappointment.
As we continue our transition to Little Hands & Me Parenting Network, we have created a new website!

We will be at the Saskatoon Family Expo tomorrow from 10am-5pm!
There is a lot of activity happening at our booth! We are having a draw for a set of Everyday flash cards for signing up for our e-blasts. These are filled with ideas related to child development, play and exploration!
Family program, YXE, Saskatoon mom and baby sign language & sensory learning
We also have our felt board play sets (spring themes include: umbrellas, bunnies, ducks, and a flower garden) as well as our award winning PTPA flash cards!
ALSO, for each family who registers for a Spring 2016 class receives their choice of an: everyday or ABC’s flash card set. This is a VALUE of $15!!
Each Wednesday, Little Hands & Me Parenting Network provide a Baby Sign ASL word!
What is Mr E signing?
Answer is: STOP!!
Here is a video explaining why I switched our name to Little Hands and Me Parenting Network. Watch the whole video for an awesome bonus just for you and your family!
